We had a really busy weekend at 2nd Strood. On Friday our Anchors and Juniors celebrated the Rugby World Cup.  They had their faces painted with flags of the nations still left in, learned how to pass a rugby ball, as well as  how to do a lineout and a scrum.  The bit they enjoyed most was learning the New Zealand Haka which the All Blacks do before every  match - not sure who is most scary the New Zealand All Blacks or 2nd Strood Anchors and Juniors! Our Company Section and Seniors went 10 pin bowling and had a great time there.
On Saturday four of our Seniors went to Sidcup for a Basic Skills for Queen's Badge Course, which s the first step on the way to the Queen's Badge.
On Sunday we had our Annual Enrolment Service, which was very well attended. During this service we were very pleased to be able to award a President's Badge to seven of our Seniors (this is the second highest award that can be achieved in the Boys' Brigade).  We  were also very proud to award a Queen's Badge to Jack Morris. This is the highest award it is possible to gain in the Boys' Brigade and it has taken a lot of work to achieve it. Amongst the photos below you will see Jack Deans and Jack Morris with their Queen's Badges. Jack Deans was a previous Captain of our Company and he was one of the first people to receive a Queen's Badge after Queen Elizabeth II's  accession to the throne and Jack Morris is  one of the last people to receive his as the King has formally given permission for it to be changed to the King's Badge shortly.
